About Shire Australia
Shire Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Shire plc, a global specialty biopharmaceutical company that works closely with specialist physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to develop and market medicines that improve quality of life for patients, their families and carers.
Shire Australia was established in May 2008 in offices in North Ryde, Sydney to provide product and services to the many Shire customers in Australia and New Zealand.
Currently, Shire Australia has treatments in the following therapeutic areas: renal (chronic kidney disease), human genetic therapies (lysosomal storage disorders) and haematological disease (essential thrombocythaemia).
Shire was originally established in the UK in 1986 and we continue to grow our product range and expand our locations so that we can bring our life saving and life changing treatments within the reach of patients throughout the world.
